La Villanesca Baroque Ensemble is a driven and talented Early Music group founded by Enrique Gómez-Cabrero Fernández (baroque violin) and Kim Stockx (dulcian).
This young and dynamic ensemble focusses on the performance of early baroque music, with special interest in instrumental music.
The international members of La Villanesca are young, enthousiastic musicians, who combine the best training and education, with freshness and a spark of wildness. They all studied with leading figures in the Early Music Scene, including Enrico Gatti, Ryo Terakado, Jacques Ogg, Donna Agrell and Wouter Verschuren.
Their activities as concert players brought them to the best concerthalls in countries like The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, England, Argentina, Japan... They also played in festivals such as Utrecht Oude Muziek Festival, Bach Festival Dordrecht, recorded with world release lables such as Brilliant Classics, and has been broadcasted by several national radios like Radio4, or RTVE
In January 2012 La Villanesca was awarded for their contribution to the development of the culture and arts in the region of Lecce. They received the golden medal by the President of the Italian Republic.
Their interest in early XVII century music, played with musicological correctness, but also in a fresh and joyful way, brings them to found La Villanesca in 2010...
